The Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM 190 Black watch is an extraordinary addition to the Officine Panerai that will make every Swiss manual swoon. With the PAM 190, the classic “battle worn” case of the Radiomir features a caliber XIV eight-day movement based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 877. This movement uses dual barrels to power the movement for eight whole days – despite only being a manual watch. At the time of its release, this technology was revolutionary. And, the movement was originally designed for a rectangular watch, so the craftsmanship is a marvel in itself.
Panerai, however, does elect to make manufacturer refinements – moving the power reserve to the back of the case and opting for a 33-jewel movement to ensure consistent, smooth operation. The 190’s most striking feature, however, is the beautiful gold arms that sit in the center over the black sandwich dial and its luminous hour markers. Paired with an exotic alligator band and a 45mm stainless steel case, the PAM 190 is a symbol of vintage elegance.
